5 Ways to Make your Wedding More Unique

Wedding Planning Tips & Tricks

Everyone wants their wedding to really represent their love as a couple, but finding ways to make your wedding stand out among the rest can be difficult. So in this blog, I am sharing 5 ways to make your wedding more unique. Feel free to take the ideas and run with them. It’s your day!

I hope these ideas spark something in your mind to make your day oh so special!

01. Do an Untraditional First Look

First looks are a really popular way to capture the pure and raw emotions felt on your wedding day. We’ve all seen the first look with your future spouse but what about switching it up and doing a first look with other important people (or pets) in your life? This is a great way to incorporate important people in your wedding day if they don’t have a part in your ceremony and reception but you still want to include them in your day. I have seen this with mothers and fathers, but I think that this would be so so sweet with grandparents, nieces, nephews, or any other close relatives and friends as well!

02. Do a First Touch

This is a take on the first look with your spouse. You still get to see each other for the first time at the ceremony, but you get to have a moment together before all the craziness begins. This is a simple moment where you hold hands without seeing each other’s faces. I have seen couples do this around a corner or just back to back, which takes a bit of help from the photographer and bridal party to make sure no one trips, but it’s so worth it. If you are a religious couple, this is a wonderful time to pray before your start your married life together.

03. Write Letters For Your First Wedding Anniversary

When writing your vows, consider starting another page to write to your spouse a year into the future. During your engagement, it can be easy to get caught up in all the wedding planning and forget about what happens after. So many brides focus so much on the wedding that they forget to prepare for the marriage that follows. Writing a letter to your spouse in the future is a great way to focus on your goals in the relationship and remember that your wedding day it just one day in a lifelong relationship.

04. Do a Bridal Reveal

This is similar to a first look, but it’s just you and your girls! Your bridesmaids are often the most excited about your wedding day, they were the ones hinting at your ring size to your boyfriend and the ones that helped him plan the proposal. They cannot wait to see you all dress up in all your bridal beauty! The reactions in these photos are always my favorite. But the pictures don’t even do it justice, being in the room for this moment is just so exciting!

05. Get a Photo Behind the Officiant

This is one of my favorite photos to capture during a wedding. During your ceremony, it can be hard to really soak in everything that’s happening because of all the excitement! This photo is a wonderful way to capture a unique perspective of your ceremony. This is probably the only time in your life you will get to look out and see all of your loved ones in the same room. Take a moment at the altar to take it all in and make sure your photographer gets this shot so you can look back on it for years to come.

Best of luck as you continue planning for your wedding day!
