Mandy & Kevin found me on Instagram – I didn’t know them before, but we felt like friends by the end of the session! Fred Fletcher Park was hot, humid, but absolutely stunning at golden hour. The clouds came in and out at the perfect time, and at the very end of the session it was all golden sun, and the pictures turned out stunning!
We couldn’t believe how much we had in common together. We both have two dogs. Mandy is a professional ballerina, and I used to be a ballerina. Kevin is a golfer, my husband is a golfer. Kevin is from Germany, and I used to live in Germany! It was nuts! I asked Kevin about the first time he saw Mandy at one of her professional performances. He blushed and it was so cute him describing how amazing it was to watch her in her element.
The sun literally peaked through at the PERFECT times. It was almost magical. The sun is literally in between their faces when they went in for a kiss. Their love is just so beautiful and the sun could feel it too!
I absolutely love the piggyback poses. I asked Kevin to spin Mandy around on his back and move all over the place. They really had fun with it!!
For the end of the session, I brought a bottle of champagne and two really nice wine glasses. I told Kevin to shake up the bottle and put his thumb over the top to make it spray everywhere! They both had SO MUCH FUN with it and I even secretly brought a glass for myself so the three of us could have a champagne toast together.
The best part was at the very end though. Before the photoshoot I asked them what their first dance song would be at their wedding, and then brought my speaker with me to the photo session. When they were drinking their champagne together in the last moments, I turned on their song, and they looked at each other with the biggest smiles on their faces. I’ll never forget that moment. It was so special for them, and for me to watch.
Mandy and Kevin were so kind, adventurous and not afraid to try my crazy posing prompts. They just went with the flow, and that’s really unique in a couple. They didn’t seem nervous at all.
